Founder Story

Lifted by Love was founded by Destinee Heard, a Black woman, single mother, and St. Louis native who believes deeply in loving others the way Christ loves us β€” fully, intentionally, and without condition.

As a single Black mother, Destinee understands what it means to carry responsibility while still choosing faith. Her journey has been shaped by perseverance, prayer, and a commitment to rise even when circumstances made it difficult. Through motherhood, education, and life experience, she learned that love is not just something we feel β€” it is something we practice, especially when it costs us something.

Lifted by Love was created from a place of obedience and compassion. It was born from witnessing real needs in her community and feeling called to respond with action, not excuses. This initiative is rooted in the belief that Christ calls us to show up for one another β€” to serve, to give, and to love in ways that restore dignity and hope.

The heart behind Lifted by Love

Lifted by Love exists to love people the way Jesus loves us β€” with patience, grace, and presence.

This work is not about charity that looks down, but about service that stands alongside. It is about meeting people where they are, without judgment, and offering support that reflects God’s love in tangible ways. Whether through community outreach, gatherings, or acts of care, the mission is simple: to remind people that they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.

Lifted by Love believes that when love leads, healing follows.

β€œLifted by Love is my β€˜yes’ to God and my commitment to love people the way Christ loves us β€” fully, selflessly, and without conditions.

As a single Black mother, I know how powerful it is to be supported and how heavy it can feel to stand alone. This initiative exists because I believe no one should feel unseen or unloved.

I may not be able to do everything, but I can do something β€” and I will continue to choose love, service, and obedience every step of the way.

We rise by lifting each other.”

A Personal Commitment

Lifted by Love is fully funded by Destinee, made possible through personal sacrifice and the support of a small circle of family and friends who believe in the mission. This work is done without expectation of recognition or return β€” only with a desire to serve faithfully and love boldly.

Every act of giving, every event, and every moment of service comes from a place of responsibility, faith, and deep care for the community that raised me.
